Ronald McDonald House
Ronald McDonald House Exposed me to the remarkable doctors, nurses, and volunteers when my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer, I promised myself once the trauma was over I would become a volunteer and try to give a little back. I began volunteering in 2005 at Ronald McDonald House Randwick and was named as their ambassador in 2008. Working as a volunteer in the House has changed my life in the most positive way. The children and their families radiate determination, spunk and a sense of caring for each other rarely seen elsewhere. While some visits can be tough, the vast majority of my time spent in the house is an uplifting experience
This is Tess and her mum Jo, sadly Tess lost her fight with neuroblastoma and we struggle with that on a regular basis. Jo continues to work tirelessly to raise money for research into the cancer that took beautiful Tess from us. For more information contact www.neuroblastoma.org.au/
Plates for Mates
One of my proudest moments was working with a group of great chefs to create Plates for Mates. A charity that we set up to support our friend Matt Golinski.
