Welcome to my site... there's plenty to see while you're here!

The long warm sunny summer days have passed leaving us with cooler weather. Though it's not my favourite time of year, winter does mean plenty more time to spend in the kitchen cooking & creating for us all. I have popped a few of my favourite winter dishes onto the site for you all to enjoy, check them out on my RECIPE page!

Here is my latest love... my new book!

My gorgeous new cookbook Fab Food for Family & Friends was released in November and is selling very well, thankyou for your support. For a sneak peek at what's inside, go to COOKBOOKS.

On Saturday 25th September 2010, Damian Wood and Rolfe Kolbe are embarking on a 600km mountain bike ride from Sydney to Armidale. This journey is a tribute to Damian's daughter Tessa and a fundraiser for Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick.

Tessa spent 9 months at the hospital receiving treatment for leukemia. Sadly she died in January, 2009 at just 19 months of age. Damian is pleased to be able to give back to the place that gave his daughter such special care, when she needed it most.

I was asked to be an ambassadore for a wonderful new cause called Dogtober (how cute is that name?). Dogtober is the new fundraising and awareness month for Assistance Dogs Australia to be held annually in October.

Assistance Dogs Australia trains Labradors and Golden Retrievers to help people living with physical disabilities.  Our dogs, after the two years it takes to train, end up undertaking tasks that may be difficult, if not impossible, for someone in a wheelchair to undertake – tasks such as opening and closing doors, answering the telephone, pressing the button to cross the road, retrieving dropped items such as keys, mobile phones and wallet and even getting bottles of water from the fridge!

Assistance Dogs Australia is a charity which places dogs with adults and children all over Australia.  Each fully trained dog costs the organization over $25,000 each but are placed with their recipient free of charge.

I hope you get involved, to find out more or see some of my doggie recipes, visit www.dogtober.org.au, or phone Assistance Dogs Australia on 1800 688 364.
